The 1872 Legacy Scholarship
The 1872 Legacy Scholarship was established in 2007 to honor and commemorate the one hundred thirty-fifth anniversary of the first fraternity founded at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 1872, the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity came to UIUC, and started a movement that has changed and made an impact on this campus every year since. For over a century, fraternity men have emerged on campus with the ideals of brotherhood and camaraderie so coveted by their founders. Those founders saw the wisdom in our fraternal bonds and the endless benefits that those relationships would bring and thus an elaborate Greek history has been created and will continue.
It is the hope of the Interfraternity Council Executive Board to continue to provide opportunities such as this scholarship to ensure the development of fraternity men and a continued tradition of excellence in the Greek community at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Qualifications for this scholarship:
· Applicant is a second-year or third-year fraternity man
· Applicants must be an active member of a chapter in the Interfraternity Council
· Applicant exhibits involvement in the Greek community, high academics, community involvement, and potential as a future leader in the Greek community
